Kana Academy is a nationally accredited KG - grade 8 independent / private school for boys and girls aged 4-17. Our deepest desire is to support rural children and young people in order to help them receive an education and reach their full potential.

Kindergarten in Ethiopia is not part of the Government system, it is run by private sector only and public school enrollment is at age 7 and age in the country is often assessed by height and teeth.

Some students attend public school part-time which is free but students must cover the cost of:-

•              Writing Instruments
•              Books
•              Uniforms and
•              School maintenance cost .

Other do not attend at all, as schools are few and far between and children often have to work to support their families on subsistence farms, as families use their children for labor under the age of 14.

Kana academy is the first Full day affordable school (KG - primary) in this area and has been established for 2 years and currently has 75 students divided between classes.

Kana academy is also seeking sponsors to help meet the school fees for selected students from the poorest of the poor families.
